Juneteenth brings balance to America's Celebration of Freedom : The 4th of July freed the land; Juneteenth freed the people! .We are the moment in 1865 when freedom was enforced for the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas by the US Colored Troops. It’s a story of resilience, citizenship, and the ongoing work of making freedom real for every generation.
Juneteenth Nevada carries that work forward right here in our state. We lead statewide education, youth engagement, cultural programming, and community partnerships that honor our history while building opportunities for the future. Over the past year, we’ve expanded our scholarship program, strengthened our youth leadership pipeline, grown our Africa‑to‑America cultural initiatives, and represented Nevada in national and international Juneteenth collaborations.
But to continue this work — and to grow it — we need partners.
We are seeking support for our scholarship fund, our year‑round programs, our research and historical preservation work, and the operational backbone that keeps everything running: communications, supplies, travel, and statewide coordination.
There are many ways to stand with us:
• Financial donations of any size
• Program sponsorships for youth, seniors, families, and cultural education
• Promotion and word‑of‑mouth to expand our reach
• And of course, volunteers who want to be part of something meaningful
Juneteenth is a commitment. With your support, Juneteenth Nevada can continue to educate, empower, and uplift communities across our state and beyond.
Thank you for your time, your leadership, and your partnership in freedom.
