Charlee Ann Hadley Crowned Miss Juneteenth Nevada
Las Vegas, NV – Charlee Ann Hadley, a 15-year-old student at Centennial High School, has been crowned Miss Juneteenth Nevada. Born in Riverside, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Charlee Ann has distinguished herself through her academic pursuits, artistic talents, and dedication to community service.
Charlee Ann excels in a variety of subjects at school, particularly enjoying Math, English, and Ceramics. Her artistic flair shines through in her ceramics work, where she creates and paints intricate clay structures. Beyond her academic achievements, Charlee Ann is passionate about animal welfare and has been a committed vegetarian for four years. Her decision to embrace vegetarianism stemmed from a rites of passage class and her deep love for animals. With aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, she is particularly focused on the conservation and the well-being of elephants.
Charlee Ann serves as the youth president of New Era LV, a black empowerment organization that strives to uplift black people and communities. New Era LV’s initiatives include "Buy Black" tours to support black-owned businesses, "Hood to Hoods" events to engage with communities and provide essential resources, and "Safe Zones" to establish secure spaces within black-owned businesses for individuals in danger.
Charlee Ann’s commitment to excellence and her dedication to making a positive impact have earned her the title of Miss Juneteenth Nevada. This prestigious recognition celebrates her achievements and her ongoing efforts to inspire and lead her peers.
The Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Pageant is the culminating annual event of the Juneteenth Nevada program which celebrates and honors the achievements of young African American women in Nevada. The program emphasizes leadership, academic excellence, and community service, providing a platform for young women to inspire and uplift their communities.

Celebrating Excellence at the
Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Program Pageant
The Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Program Pageant, a grand celebration of talent, beauty, and cultural heritage, took place on June 1 at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre in the Historic West Side of Las Vegas. With an enthusiastic turnout of 150 attendees, the event shone brightly, highlighting the significance of Juneteenth and showcasing the exceptional young women who participated.
A Night to Remember
Hosted by the charismatic Tyriq Johnson, the lead singer of the renowned tribute band Serpentine Fire, the evening was filled with excitement and anticipation. The audience was treated to delightful musical accompaniment by the talented Woody Woods, adding a melodious backdrop to the proceedings.
Distinguished Judges
The panel of judges brought a wealth of experience and diverse perspectives to the competition. Susan Beaubian, Rev. Dr. Lori McMacken, and the legendary Antonio Fargas carefully evaluated each contestant, considering various aspects of their performances and presentations.
Leadership and Support
The event was seamlessly organized under the visionary leadership of Miss Juneteenth Nevada Director MarQue Munday and President Deborah "Dee" Evans. Their dedication and hard work ensured a memorable and impactful evening for all involved. A special acknowledgment goes to the Super Sisterhood, a remarkable group of eight outstanding professional women entrepreneurs who lent their expertise and support. This dynamic group played a crucial role in both securing community sponsors and providing invaluable backstage assistance, contributing significantly to the overall success of the pageant. The presence of Assemblywoman Claire Thomas further underscored the importance of the occasion and the support from the broader community.
